How we work

First, a few ground rules.

The ground rules

  1. Integrity first.

We only work with people, products, and services that we feel are a great value to the customer. We refuse to fleece anyone, or sell garbage. Integrity comes first.

  2. Results you can measure.

We want to create results that are measurable. It may take more time to build in tracking and testing systems, but in the long run, this results in our knowledge of what does and (more importantly) does not work for your audience. (Plus, this allows us to point to concrete results and say, “Here’s what we accomplished.”)

  3. Never “just because.”

You will never, ever, hear us say that we chose to do something “just because.” Everything we do is for a specific reason, and our goal is to educate you. We encourage you to ask questions and understand why we do what we do. It can only help you appreciate the time and thought that goes into each detail.

  4. Straight answers.

We will always tell you how we see things, even if it’s not something we think you want to hear, even if it’s something you came up with yourself. For example:

    • If we think your logo sucks, we will tell you.
    • If the name of your new product is a joke, you’re going to hear it from us.
    • If there’s a better way to do something that will save you time and money, we will recommend it to you.
    • If we made a mistake, we will recommend we back up and try something else.

We are straight shooters and we don’t pull punches. That’s not what you’re paying for, and we wouldn’t want someone to spare our feelings and cost us a bunch of money. So we’re not going to do that to you.

  5. The right fit, or a referral.

If what we’ve shared with you here doesn’t resonate, that’s OK, and you should look for another company to work with. (We are happy to refer you to someone else.)

How a project runs

  1. A conversation. You tell us what’s going on, and we ask a lot of questions.

  2. A look under the hood. With access you grant, we review your site, your tracking, and your search data, so the plan starts from facts.

  3. A written plan. What we’ll do, in what order, and how we’ll measure each piece.

  4. The build. We build on a private staging copy of your site. Anything we publish on your site goes live only with our founder’s sign-off.

  5. Measure and report. Plain-English reports: what moved, what didn’t, and what’s next.

  6. Keep going, or hand it off. Some clients keep us on to run the system. Others take it in-house. Either way, you get documentation, not a black box.

AI in our workflow

AI is built into our workflow: research, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and checks. It makes the work faster, and it helps us keep up with best practices that never sit still.

  • Research first. Before we build, we research current platform and search guidance, so every plan starts from how things work today.
  • Faster design and builds. AI helps us draft layouts, write code, and run tests, so design and implementation move faster.
  • Faster fixes. When something breaks, AI helps us find the cause sooner, and fixes are tested on a staging copy before they touch your live site.
  • Checked against current best practices. AI-assisted checks test each build against current best practices, to keep our work aligned as those practices change.
  • Never self-approved. We run a team of specialist AI agents, each with a defined job. Significant work is checked by a separate reviewer, an AI agent or a person, never by whoever did the work.
  • People sign off. Anything we publish on your site goes live only with our founder’s sign-off, and anything written to your customers is reviewed by a person, on your team or ours, before it’s sent. Routine technical tasks, like monitoring alerts and search-engine update notices, run automatically.
  • Your Google data stays yours. Google account data you connect is accessed only with your permission, used only to deliver analysis, reporting, and campaign management to you, never sold, and never used for advertising.

What stays yours

  • Your accounts. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and ad accounts stay in your name. We work through the access you grant, and you can revoke it at any time.
  • Documentation. Every system we build for you is documented, so someone else could pick it up.

Ways to work together

  • Projects. A defined piece of work: a site rebuild, a tracking overhaul, a launch.
  • Ongoing. We run the system month to month and report on it regularly.
  • Part-time marketing leadership. We lead your marketing and build what the plan needs.

Straight answers to fair questions

Who will we actually work with?

Our founder, Den Bradshaw, leads every engagement. We bring in vetted specialists from our network when a project needs them, and we use our own AI tools for speed. You’ll always know who’s doing what.

What if your founder is unavailable?

You’ll have the documentation, your accounts in your own name, and a site built on standard WordPress that another competent developer can pick up.

What does it cost?

It depends on the scope. After our first conversation, we’ll tell you what we’d do and what it would take.

Are you a fractional CMO service?

Not in the usual sense. Fractional CMOs usually lead strategy and manage a team. We lead the strategy and do the building ourselves. If you want part-time marketing leadership that also builds, that’s the closest fit.

Can you guarantee results?

We promise the work, the method, and an honest read of the numbers. Google itself says, “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google,” and we won’t pretend otherwise.

We already have an agency or a developer. Can you work alongside them?

Yes. We can audit what you have, fill the gaps, or take over one piece of it. If your current setup is fine, we’ll say so.

We’re not technical. Is that a problem?

No. Our goal is to educate you, in plain English. Ask us anything.

Let's talk.

If what we’ve said makes sense, and you like what you’re hearing, we want to help. And we’d like to build a long-term relationship with you (and help you build long-term relationships with your customers).
